Cynthia Covert
Cynthia Covert has over 20 years of experience dealing with allergies and the havoc they create. Prior to being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and endometriosis, the only allergies Cynthia had were to grass and fir trees. All of a sudden, allergies became a huge part of her life in her early thirties. Cynthia’s body began having allergic reactions to food and medications that had never been a problem before. To make matters worse, her daughter was born with multiple food allergies and would later be diagnosed with a severe allergy to red dye. Needless to say, trying to figure out her own body –while also helping her daughter navigate her own allergies – was quite the challenge!
Mistakes were made, and at times misconceptions hindered their progress. But twenty years later, they have learned to live well despite living with a long list of allergies. Having both common and unusual allergies has taught Cynthia how to advocate for herself and others. She shares what she has learned along the way to empower, encourage, and educate others - because, after all, knowledge is power! A power Cynthia wished she had when her family’s journey with allergies began. Life with allergies is easier when we are equipped with the right information.
