Allergy advise needed

I'm wondering if anyone can help or has similar issues when I go out in the summer I get hives on my forearm because I wear tshirts I get them when I go outside and the wind hits my arm. I thought nothing of it for years but this year I'm iching for a week after being exposed I've been for allergy tests all negative but my IEG level was 806 which is high wondering if anyone knows anything any help would he appreciated Hives when I go out

  1. Hey Erin,

Thank you so much for your reply indid console my doctor te unsure too as all my allergy results came back negative. They thought it may be cold uticaria also how ever I was refused to an allergy clinic and the appointment for a telephone call is not available until July. As I was iching so badly I decided to do an online intolerance test ot came back showing an intolerance to Borth tree pollen and bark. I then realised the times I have gotten the hives I've been sitting in the garden or going for a walk on my road. I had a picture of my self in my relatives garden with my arms on the table I asked about the table and it's indeed made from birch wood also when walking on my road I realised there are birch trees planted everywhere hence why I got them when walking the dog the only baffling thing is that my tree pollen blood test eas negative. The elevated leves were the serium total IGE concentrate 806ku/l

    1. Hi, !

I have to admit; your situation has me stumped. That actually happens a fair amount in this community, as I meet more people with unique allergies. You mentioned that your allergy testing came back normal, except for an elevated IEG. So, with an elevated IGE (did you mean IEG or IGE?), you can definitely experience skin rashes, so that could be something. Also, dry, windy weather can cause rashes and hives, especially if you are allergic to something that may be carried on the wind (like tree or flower pollen, dust, mold, etc). But, you did say that you didn't seem to show any allergies to those types of things. Also, if you break out in hives in cold weather, that could be cold urticaria -- https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cold-urticaria/symptoms-causes/syc-20371046. I don't *think* that's what you're dealing with, since you mentioned going out in short sleeves. But, I wanted to include the information with you, just in case. Here's some information that you may have already come across about elevated IGE. I generally don't provide data from commercial sites, but I had trouble finding info that was concise on this topic -- https://www.verywellhealth.com/ige-and-asthma-200596. I would definitely talk to your doctor about the elevated test results, if you haven't done so already. If you wear long sleeves, do you still have a reaction?
