Introduce yourself to the community!

Sometimes the only people who understand are others who are living with allergies or caring for loved ones with severe allergies. Your story may really help someone else.

Tell us about:

-Which allergies you or your loved one are living with.

-One fact about your life with allergies or your allergy journey.

-One change you have needed to make in your life due to allergies.

-Something you would be interested in learning more about from the allergies community!

Take a moment to introduce yourself to the community here in this forum!

  1. Hi my name is Nechama. I have a corn allergy, humidity triggers asthma as well, I have medication allergies as well. I'm allergic to iron. I enjoy the outdoors. I can't do that right now with this kind of weather. I enjoy swimming, boating, anywhere scenics long as there's no height issue. Since I joined this community I'm calmer, more relaxed knowing I have where I can say how I feel and get feedback from others.

    1. Thanks for introducing yourself! So glad to have you as part of the community and it's nice to hear how helpful it has been to you so far. We are here rooting for you and supporting you. Hugs, Elizabeth (team member)

  2. hello! I have seasonal allergies, along with pet dander, dust mites, olive trees, and some foods like fig, shitake mushrooms, and pineapple (very weird, I know!).

I endured 3 years of allergy shots so I could adopt my dog. I have moved to different parts of the country over the last 20 years to improve my allergies.

For fun, I love to hike with my dog, cook and knit.

I'm so happy to be here and looking forward to sharing our experiences!

    1. Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, IBS and food allergies. The frustrating part with food allergies is that they are ever-changing for me, except wheat. Wheat 100% is always a big no and if I have wheat I am really putting myself at risk for getting extremely sick. To deal with food allergies I've really had to change my lifestyle and diet. I now incorporate a lot of fish, when before I never ate fish. Fish is a big safe food for me and so nutrient dense. It's been a great change. And lastly, what I like to do for fun is go to the beach. That's my happy place. -Elizabeth (team member)

      1. Hi there! I'm Pete. I have grown up with several allergies including, grass and tree pollens, food allergies, hayfever, and pet dander. Also, have atopic dermatitis and asthma which have caused huge issues in my life including topical steroid withdrawal. My passions are music, books, tv\film. I try to eat clean most days and have started to treat myself at weekends with foods I know do not fully agree with me. You've gotta live, haven't you?!!

        1. as they say, everything in moderation, including moderation! Yes, you gotta live. Welcome to the community, Pete. ~ Lorene, moderator
