Shampoo alternative

Has anyone any ideas of what I can use as a shampoo. Ive been struggling for years to find one that doesn't hurt me. Tried so many and now I am at a loss as to what I can use instead.
I have tried the mildest, baby shampoos or body washes.
I have even ended up previously trying egg, a potato and other things like that. All have their disadvantages in many ways.
I have also tried Soap Nuts ( from India).
All detergent of ANY sort seems to make my scalp very sore.
I was trying T-Gel as it was the only one I has a chance not to get sore with using. But that always had its disadvantages for me and made my eyes sore. But now, it makes my head sore too so I have had to stop it.

I've had previously a formal clinical diagnosis of Idiopathic Environmental Intolerance at the hospital. But the only help they could give ,e was to send me to look on Allergy UK web site. on their forums years ago.

  1. Oh, goodness, ! I am so sorry you are in this situation. While no one in my family deals with issues on this scale, one of my children has incredibly sensitive skin and allerigies and my husband deals with sensitive skin and psoriasis. T-Gel has always worked pretty well for my husband, but you mentioned that all of sudden, it's causing issues for you.

So, do you feel like the products are drying out the skin on your scalp or is it more of an allergic reaction to the product? I know that's a confusing question, but there is a difference.

As I am sure you know, any soaps and detergents can be quite drying. And I just want to see if your reaction is from dried out skin or an allergic reaction to something in the product. And, unfortunately, many commercially made products need to have some type of preservative to help them maintain their shelf stability and product integrity for months or years. Do you have any idea what additives/chemicals you know for sure you are sensitive to?

There are people making products in the US for individuals with severe chemical/environmental allergies. I don't know what options are available in the UK and I can't personally recommend any one company. But, perhaps looking up companies (probably small ones are your best bet) that specialize in products for people with chemical sensitivities/allergies is a place to start. You may have already done this, so apologies if this advice is not helpful.
